I have a part-time psychotherapy private practice in Yarra Valley & Melbourne and teach on the (Hakomi) Psychotherapy professional training in Perth, Australia, & New Zealand. I am also a part-time presenter for  SALT (Sport & Life Training) sessions on mental health & respectful relationships, and facilitate groups for new fathers.
I  have many years experience as a mens stopping violence group facilitator, presenter, and community development facilitator with fathers and families.
I have a 20 + year interest and practice in Zen and mindfulness, and as a musician of world music with a love of gardening and time in places of wilderness. I am a father to two teenage daughters with my beloved wife Tess, and live in the town of Warburton, Yarra Valley, Victoria.
Experience

Since training and qualifying as a psychotherapist in 2003 I have worked in a number of roles in organisations as well as in private practice. For 6 years I worked in NZ as family therapist with young people 5-17 years of age and extended family members who have experienced family violence and trauma. I also worked with youth at risk in groupwork including wilderness therapy.

For 2 years I worked for Eastern Health as a general counsellor and in men's behavioral change groupwork, and have been in private practice for over 10 years.

Over this time I have developed an eco-therapy practice for groups (half day to week long retreats) and individuals (1-4 hr sessions). The Yarra Valley region near Warburton provide the perfect location for eco-therapy.

As a certified Hakomi psychotherapist and teacher I have taught on the Mindful Somatic (Hakomi) Professional skills training, in Perth and New Zealand and conducted workshops throughout Australia and New Zealand.

I am passionate about supporting healthy male culture and as such have been part of rights of passage programs for youth, health promotion in engaging boys and men in prevention of family violence, and in delivering sessions in sporting  clubs on respectful relationships and mental health. In 2017 I was part of initiating Healthy Mates, a men's health breakfast program that operates monthly in the town of Warburton. In the past year my main focus has been in supporting new fathers, initiating a dads playgroup, 1:1 support and a dads peer support group, working alongside maternity staff.
