The more we listen the more we attune ourselves to the roots of suffering and the means to help alleviate it. It is through listening that wisdom skill and opportunity find form in an act the truly helps. But more than all of these, the very act of listening can dissolve distance between us and others as well.

About
"I have a passion for facilitating and supporting the capacity for awareness, responsibility, and empowerment for the individual, between people, in groups and organisations, so that positive interpersonal relationships are possible. I believe in life long learning and that every moment provides opportunities for being awake in the world and alive in our life."
Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy (Hakomi) is a profound model of therapy that draws on mindfulness and somatic information (conversations with the body) to support insight, 'missing experiences' and shifts of habits. As a certified Hakomi Teacher and Therapist, I bring over 15 years experience. See articles below for more info on Hakomi. Having also trained in Buddhist Psychotherapy & creatives therapies I bring elements of these into the work
Eco-therapy
Nature-Based Therapy
Ecotherapy allows the power of nature and our connection with the bigger world to support a therapeutic process. Often ecotherapy sessions take place in an outdoor session in the beautiful Upper Yarra region near Melbourne. Individual and Groupwork sessions are available. they range from 2 hour sessions to day long and extended retreats. This work is the culmination of over 20 years of studies and practices in ecology, ecopsychology and adult education. My masters thesis was an exploration of ecotherapy processes. Family Therapy works directly with systems and dynamics in families. This may be with several family members, a couple, children and adolescence or an individual. As a family therapist for 8 years at Family Works (NZ) working with all ages, this approach offers an insightful at times playful yet profound understanding and choices within interactions.
This is about supporting shifting out of conditioned ways of limitation of what it means to be a 'man', freeing up choices towards a sense of wholeness, aliveness and better relationships with oneself and other key people in our life. That may be as a father, partner, lover, friend, or whatever your circumstances. Whether it is about working with addictions, pornography, intimacy, communication, expressing emotions, trust, or belonging, I offer a non-judgemental space to explore the underlying issues.
Supervision is an essential part practicing as a therapist which supports self-reflection, gaining insight on systems and dynamics, as a prevention to compassion fatigue and VT and as part of best practice. As a supervisor for individuals and groups for the past 6 years I offer a compassionate supportive space, and a love of creating a rich learning environment. I have completed accredited supervisor training with STS (ACA endorsed). Supervision is offered in person or by Skype or Zoom.
